Growth

I’ve been experiencing a lot of growth, a lot of changes. Don’t worry, all good changes. Very good changes :) If you haven’t already noticed, the blog is a bit different. I redesigned it a couple weeks ago but I guess I was never satisfied with it. Now i’ll be able to display my images MUCH larger. They’ll be beautiful!

Additionally, I’ve been able to seperate my weddings and portrait work. In a previous post I highlighted this change as well. So, a bunch of new changes for the websites, but also for my brochures and product sheets. I’ll be debuting those shortly, but some of my clients already have them! They are AWESOME! Also, something new in the Weddings site is the addition of my recent album designs. I’ll also be putting more images of my actual products on the webpages as well. So stay tuned!

Also, I just got back this week a beautiful framed print that I made for my father-in-law. My wife was born in Monterey, where we went last December to shoot a good friends wedding. We toured the 17-Mile drive (by far one of the most beautiful places on earth) and I got a series of images (check the history to see more). It must have reminded my father-in-law of the time they spent in Monterey so I was able to pick a beautiful frame for a great piece. I was really floored with the way it came out. The wood frame really fit the whole scene so beautifully! It’s semi-hanging on the wall until we have to give it to the owner :( Thought you might enjoy it!

El Conquistador, Family & Senior - 02.22.08

Yesterday couldn’t have been a better day for photography. Beautiful light, nice cool weather and a great location! If you haven’t been to the El Conquistador Resort, it’s a cool place, really luxurious :)

Anyways, Courtney was just a super fantastic person to work with. Very easy going, willing to try everything, and very easy to take pictures of! It seemed that everything we tried just worked out awesome.

The Gardner’s are good friends and it was a true honor to be able to work with them. If you don’t know them, you’re really missing out. Anyways, enjoy their photos! Tell me what you think!

Here’s the family all together. Aren’t they are so coordinated? Absolutely love their choice of colors . . . and everyone smiled :)

Gates Pass - 02.16.08

It was a bright sunny day on Saturday where I had a great time with 2 different families. They had both wanted their family photographs near the very top of the valley there, and it was quite something. A beautiful place near sunset (although I left just as the sun fell below the horizon). Great place, nice hikes and beautiful scenery.

Note: hiking up the cliffs with 40lbs of gear wasn’t exactly a walk in the park! It was all but necessary considering the brightness of the whole scene as the first family would have been very dark without a large light next to them. The 2nd family would have been too bright and a gnasty orange color if I had not used the light as well. If that’s what it takes to get great portraits, I’m there!

Major Website Update!

I’ve been working hard these past few weeks on updating my website (and the blog, that came first though) and I think I’m finally done. Due to the growth that I’ve experienced lately, I felt it pertinent to be able to separate my work a bit. I have now created a “2nd website”, thus splitting the Weddings and Portrait sections of the websites.

Hopefully this will make it easier to view only Wedding information, and only Portrait information. I hope that you enjoy the change, I think it was worth the hard work, and the wait.

If you haven’t navigated to the main entry page, www.spencerboerup.com, you’ll see the new layout. The picture below shows:
Weddings on the LEFT, Portraits on the RIGHT. Enjoy :)

Image of the Week - Contest 4

We have 2 winners! I received 2 emails at the same time, both correct, how cool is that?

Congrats to Debi & Rebecca! This one was for a $50 gift certificate!

Trail Dust Town, Golf & Stuff!

I had such an awesome morning today with Heather & Jay!!! It was a bit chilly, but it warmed up real quick. Anyways, we headed over to Trail Dust Town for their engagement photos, and boy do they know how to have fun! It was just a blast with all the cool scenery there, and they are just very natural and relaxed so it made for some great portraits! We then ran over to Golf & Stuff (right next door) to see if they’d be kind enough to let us get some fun shots on the golf course. Luckily, there wasn’t a whole lot of people, so they gave us some clubs and balls and I worked my magic :)

Anyways, there are too many to show, but here are some of the awesome results! Enjoy!
