Growth

I’ve been experiencing a lot of growth, a lot of changes. Don’t worry, all good changes. Very good changes :) If you haven’t already noticed, the blog is a bit different. I redesigned it a couple weeks ago but I guess I was never satisfied with it. Now i’ll be able to display my images MUCH larger. They’ll be beautiful!

Additionally, I’ve been able to seperate my weddings and portrait work. In a previous post I highlighted this change as well. So, a bunch of new changes for the websites, but also for my brochures and product sheets. I’ll be debuting those shortly, but some of my clients already have them! They are AWESOME! Also, something new in the Weddings site is the addition of my recent album designs. I’ll also be putting more images of my actual products on the webpages as well. So stay tuned!

Also, I just got back this week a beautiful framed print that I made for my father-in-law. My wife was born in Monterey, where we went last December to shoot a good friends wedding. We toured the 17-Mile drive (by far one of the most beautiful places on earth) and I got a series of images (check the history to see more). It must have reminded my father-in-law of the time they spent in Monterey so I was able to pick a beautiful frame for a great piece. I was really floored with the way it came out. The wood frame really fit the whole scene so beautifully! It’s semi-hanging on the wall until we have to give it to the owner :( Thought you might enjoy it!

Major Website Update!

I’ve been working hard these past few weeks on updating my website (and the blog, that came first though) and I think I’m finally done. Due to the growth that I’ve experienced lately, I felt it pertinent to be able to separate my work a bit. I have now created a “2nd website”, thus splitting the Weddings and Portrait sections of the websites.

Hopefully this will make it easier to view only Wedding information, and only Portrait information. I hope that you enjoy the change, I think it was worth the hard work, and the wait.

If you haven’t navigated to the main entry page, www.spencerboerup.com, you’ll see the new layout. The picture below shows:
Weddings on the LEFT, Portraits on the RIGHT. Enjoy :)

New Album Spreads!

I just got finished designing an album for a wedding I did back in late December. What a great wedding and I was totally excited about starting the album design, but I didn’t realize they would come out this well!

This design is for one of my Album suppliers, AsukaBook. Their albums are hot, contemporary, sophisticated and elegant. They won another PPA Hot Award for their books this month! This is a 60 page album, but here are just a few spreads! (Of course, the pages won’t really have my logo on them!)

Downtown Urban / High Corbett

I had such a great session yesterday with David and here are his photos. We headed downtown for that urban look, something new and stylin’. David also loves baseball, so I made arrangements to stop by the High Corbett Field at Reid Park, and we were lucky enough to be able to get on the field, all alone. Sometimes you just have to ask . . .

Anyways, he was an awesome kid. If you know him, give him congrats on being such a great subject. I particularly liked the vivid colors, and the afternoon light just made them ‘pop’. Enjoy :)

Welcome to the new blog! This is intended to be a fun and energetic source for news, tutorials, examples and contests for Spencer Boerup Photography. I guess this is the first “official” post to the blog, but check back often as we will be posting tutorials on “How to take better pictures with your camera” and understand a little bit more about the technical aspect of photography, light and art. I will also be hosting weekly contests where you can actually win real prizes (like dinner gift cards, weird prizes or even $300 worth of photography).

As always, never hesitate to let me know what you think! Comments and opinions are always welcome, even if you want to just say hi!

STAY TUNED!
