Nikki’s Pics!

I had a super fun session with Nikki yesterday at Agua Caliente park.  I had totally forgot that it would be a holiday and that the park would be packed . . . but we worked it out and still had a lot of fun.  I’m not sure if they were prepared for my goofy-ness and I kept them laughing at myself the entire time :)  Beautiful day with an a-m-a-z-i-n-g sunset.  Thanks again Nikki, you rock!

Aren’t her eyes just amazing???

Super awesome sunset, couldn’t have seen anything more awesome.

Nathan’s rockin pics!

Got to shoot an awesome senior today, Nathan from Benson High.  It was just a whole lot of fun and we were laughing all afternoon. These were shot in a pretty remote location in AZ along the freeway, very very cool area to shoot.  Texas Canyon to be specific (just East of Benson about 15 minutes or so).  The weather was absolutely amazing, so it was extremely pleasant outside.  Spent quite a while out there getting some really cool stuff, then we went back to his school to get a few more, worked with the stage and had some more fun.  Nathan is a big sports guy but we focused more on his wide variety of musical talents (like guitar, electric violin, electric guitar, piano, etc).  I had a blast!!!

I don’t know many photographers that go out of the way to plan Senior pics as cool as these are!  Thanks again Nathan, it was a super rockin’ afternoon!

This one is probably one of my favs . . . doesn’t he look like he’s a country music star??  This pic belongs on a CD album!

If I got too close to him we would both start laughing, lol!  Super fun dood.

Look at those eyes ladies!

I don’t know why but this makes me think of guitar hero or something.

I told him to do a mix of Kurt Kobane and KISS.  I think he nailed it!

New Product Shots!

I received back some sample products, and also the wedding album for Heather & Jay and just had to post some photos.  Heather & Jay received a 60 page Asukabook Deluxe album and it was HOT!  Asukabook has never let me down on their album quality, consistency and all around value.  They are a bit less-expensive than some of my other albums I offer but equally as popular and excellent.  It had one of those special moments as a photographer . . . and as a business owner (kind of a sneak peak in to what really keeps me going!) . . . I was able to deliver the album to Heather & Jay, and also preview it with them for the first time.  It’s the funnest thing in the world to see their reactions and emotions as they look at their album for the first time.  If I was thinking straight that day, I would have brought the camera to remember it . . . but it was fun anyways!!!

Now for some other product shots of my new Senior Portfolios.  Holy COW.  It’s hard to describe how cool these things are, since I’m a very visual person and don’t express myself easily with words . . . but here goes.  These are 6×8″ in size and are hand-made in Italy . . . yes, that’s right, Italy.  They are produced by GraphiStudio, one of the best Album producers in the world right now.  Each page is printed on a fine-art linen, bound with their patented binding method, where each page lays flat (as you can see below, and in contrast above how the Asukabook albums DO NOT lay flat like the GraphiStudio albums).  Each comes with a hard-cover black fabric cover, but the custom-designed dust jacket is included as well.  Oh ya, these are all custom designed by yours truly!  You won’t find these designs with ANYONE else.  This is a 20 page album sample that is just sooooooo cool.  No wonder they have been popular lately!  Give me a call if you’d like to see a custom preview of these bad-boys!

Here are some actual design layouts (not just photos of the book):

Formal, Casual, Guitar, Hard Rock . . .

Usually those 4 words don’t find themselves into the same sentence when describing . . . well, almost anything.  I had a great senior portrait session with Derrick over the weekend.  He goes to Benson High School and we planned a number of different options and locations.  He had requested that we take some formal portraits at his grandparents home (in Tucson), and it was very nice home indeed.  We then proceeded over to the St. Phillips Plaza to get some more relaxed and casual portraits, which was a neat location.  I had been planning/thinking about doing something there for a couple months now, just never worked out I guess.

Then the really cool stuff started to come out when Derrick was a little more relaxed and comfortable with his surroundings, at his own High School.  We traveled to Benson and got some awesome shots with his musical and athletic talents involved.  Too bad we didn’t have a football though :(  Anyway, his guitar shots are some of my favorite of all time!!!  It was a blast and I was just having a ball creating such cool portraits for Derrick.  He’s a talented individual, so tell him his senior portraits ROCK the next time you run into him!

I don’t know why but this one reminds me of Varsity Blues . . . and I’ve never seen the movie, just the cover, lol!

One of my favs, the lighting in the afternoon was just gorgeous!

Here is a quick composite I had fun creating.  Sorta the grunge/punk rock kind of feel to it.

Chris in action!

I had a fun shoot yesterday with Chris as we did something a little different than I usually do.  Chris plays on the volleyball team at his school and we arranged to get some cool action shots on the court at the High School.  It was a blast!  Chris was a little unsure I think of how we could make “cool” volleyball shots, but I think we nailed them here.  It was quite nostalgic as well, as it was the same High School I attended too!  I even saw one of my old history teachers, but I don’t think he remembered me :)  Anyway, I approached this like a Nike / Gatorade ad, all those cool action shots you always see in the magazines.

We finished up the fun action pictures and then headed over to La Paloma for some other more formal / casual type portraits.  We barely missed the rain but I think they worked out just well!  Thansk again Chris!

Also to show off some of the cool posters we can create, here’s a little mokup:

I was also fortunate enough to have been able to work with Chris’ family for a awesome family portrait out on the east side a couple weeks ago.  Their family was one of the easiest to work with, they just fell in place, looked great!  They make it look so easy to do!  Thanks again!

Katri in Bisbee!

So, I guess Bisbee is becoming the next sliced bread, and I must say it is a crazy cool place to take any kind of portraits!  This is my 3rd time down there in about 2 months and I just love that place!  So much character with so many different types of locations.  And to add to the whole “coolness” factor, Katri was a totally awesome Senior to work with.  She had a number of different outfits that were just totally chic!  She also brought her compound bow and rifle . . . but we didn’t get time to have some fun with those unfortunately :(  Maybe next time!

So, for the coolest senior pictures in town, or in the state of Arizona, who you gonna call???  Thanks again Katri, you are totally awesome!

P.S.  Katri is the first Senior Ambassador that I’ve been able to work with for the class of 2009.  If you would like to know more about the Senior Ambassador program that we have, please visit: www.spencerboerup.com/seniors
